On April 13 at 19:00 at the "CinemaLounge" in the Hotel Angleterre takes place a screening of the film "Black Square" and a public talk with Olga Sviblova, the author of the film. The event is timed to coincide with the exhibition “Parallel Universes. From Abstraction to Artefact" in the Marble Palace of the Russian Museum.
The film "Black Square" is about the history of Russian unofficial art of 1953-1988. The heroes of the film are the classics of contemporary art Ilya Kabakov, Eric Bulatov, Vladimir Yakovlev, Vladimir Yankilevsky, Eduard Steinberg, Anatoly Zverev and others. The film was awarded at the Cannes Film Festival in 1988, won the main prize of the festival in Chicago, the main prize of the 1st All-Union Documentary Film Festival and other awards.
